Accessibility is not just about ramps and wider doorways. True accessibility means ensuring that every person, regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities, has equal opportunity to experience healing, connection, and wellbeing. In this issue, we explore how holistic therapy services can move beyond good intentions to truly inclusive practice.
Far too often, people with disabilities encounter unnecessary barriers when seeking out natural health or complementary therapies. Whether this be from clinics without interpreters, to yoga classes in inaccessible spaces, to websites that can’t be navigated by screen readers. The result is that many are excluded from care that could greatly enhance their quality of life. We believe it’s time for this to
change.
